National Defense at Camp Perry I attended the first National Defense match at camp Perry in August 2011. One of the national publications wasn’t interested, but I’m not one to waste all that effort. TV Tip

I never thought I'd find a tactical tip from The West Wing, a TV show about a liberal president that ran from September 1999 to May 2006. But I did. You can find the episode I'm referring to in season 3, episode 23. In this, Mark Harmon portrays a Secret Service agent who accidentally walks into a shop and rob in progress. He confronts and manages to secure the criminal and remove the criminal's concealed weapon. He uses his radio to have his dispatcher send the police. Turning to the counterman, he doesn't notice the counterman is still acting hinky. A second shooter, hidden to the side, shoots and kills the agent and escapes into the night, followed seconds later by the panicked counterman. What’s the tactical lesson? ...

More plastic guns Up date on printable guns. Read the original post here . Michael Crumling has come up with one solution for the fragile nature of printable plastic guns. He’s a 25-year-old machinist and has developed what amounts to a disposable barrel with a live round in the chamber. It’s expensive and time consuming to make, but it turns a novelty item into a functioning weapon. His other idea? Why not use non-regulated metal parts like triggers and firing pins? It’s only a short step until someone finds commercially available high strength steel pipe with an ID that matches a common pistol round. Printable guns are an example of technology getting ahead of society. It’s also an example of why guns will always be available. Five years ago you needed to be a machinist with tools and quality raw material to make a gun. Now you need a printer, plastic feed material, a downloadable file and enough electricity to run the device...

So much that she presented her toy passport with a picture of a stuffed unicorn to customs at Turkey’s Antalya Airport. Emily was traveling with her parents, so I hope the agent merely had a sense of humor, but he stamped it and passed Emily through security. No! I could not bring myself to post a picture of a unicorn, not even a tactical unicorn. Her parents worry it demonstrates how easy it is to smuggle a child out of Turkey. I see it differently.
